Ride for Veterans Visits the Cariboo

The journey has now begun for a Cariboo veteran who is riding across Canada to raise awareness about the changing face of vets.
A parade and pancake breakfast kicked things off for Paul and Terry Nichols in Quesnel on Sunday morning.
Close to 200 people came out to support their cause at the Legion.
Paul says they have just begun and he feels it has already been a success.
He says they wanted to achieve two things with the ride….one was to raise awareness of the changing face of veterans which he feels they have done and the second was to bring the community together and collect and share stories.
Paul noted that judging by the crowd he feels they have also done that.
The Nazko First Nations were present and there was a smudging ceremony for the horses prior to the parade.
From Quesnel, the Nichols travelled to Williams Lake for a luncheon and then to 100 Mile House for a dinner event.
The actual ride will begin in Victoria on April 13th.
