Exciting news for paintballers in the region !
The Northern Strike Paintball Association has received almost 95-hundred dollars in funding to build two speedball fields in Quesnel.
The money comes from the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
Peter Bond, the President of Northern Strike, says this is something new and they hope to bring people in from out-of-town to play in tournaments.
Bond says they still have to clear the new field and take stumps out after some logging was done in the area but he says they hope to have at least one up and running by the beginning of June.
He says the city has also given them 5 thousand dollars and they will come up with the rest of the money for the project.
Bond says they hope to open their gates for regular paintball on May 17th.
