Wildwood Honors Fire Chief for 30 Years of Service

The community of Wildwood paid tribute this past weekend to their Fire Chief who marked 30 years of service with their Volunteer Fire Department.

Presenting Randy Worsley with a 30th-anniversary ax and a plaque recognizing his long length of service, CRD Area D Director Steve Forseth says they will also be bestowing him with federal honors in November.

“I’m just tickled of pink all the service he’s provided to the community and the Department did during the 2017 wildfires,” he says.

“The fact that’s he been with this department almost as long as this department has been established, for someone to dedicate 30 years to a Department is a rare feat.”

Forseth says the only fire chief he knows of that has that length of service which is a little bit longer than Worsley’s, is Stan McCarthy of 150 Mile.

Worsley joined the Department in 1988, three years after it was established. He could not be immediately reached for comment.

The Wildwood Volunteer Fire Department is of 1 of 14 volunteer fire departments operated by the Cariboo Regional District (CRD).
