The building looks good and they’re ready to go.
That is the latest update from Quesnel’s Board of Education on the upcoming move from Quesnel Junior School to Maple Drive in September.
Board Chair Gloria Jackson…
“Trustees got a tour of the building on Wednesday and all the Trustees were just really impressed with the brightness of the classrooms and we’re excited that the students have a renovated building to go to for the time being.”
Students also got a tour of the Maple Drive facility.
Jackson stress however, that this is still only temporary…
“We’re also continuing to push for the replacement of QJS with the Ministry of Education and their capital branch so we’re also hopeful for that and to hear an announcement soon.”
Jackson says they are still waiting to hear from the Ministry on what to do about the old site, which is owned by the crown, but she says for now it will be boarded up and secured.
The move in September will involve roughly 440 students.
