Ryll to Seek Re-Election as Councillor in Williams Lake

Jason Ryll will be seeking a second term as a Williams Lake City Councillor.

Ryll announced Wednesday that he will be running in the 2018 fall election.

“I feel like I’m just getting started. There are still a lot of projects that are going on the community that I would like to see through to fruition,” he says.

“The four years of my first term seem to have really raced by and I’m looking forward to if the community should decide sticking around for at least another 4 years.”

As for what for those projects are, Ryll that there are a number of them.

“Obviously putting the lake back into Williams Lake-I want to improve lake access and I’m looking forward to some projects that we can’t quite release just yet, but this summer looks like it’s going to be quite positive in that regard,” he says.

“I’m a huge tourism advocate also. So anything we can do to try and boost tourism in Williams Lake and the region, in general, I’m an advocate for, and I’d also really like to see what we can do to try and strengthen the programs that we offer at our university. I think it’s really an opportunity that we haven’t quite capitalized on just yet.”

Ryll is the second Williams Lake Councillor after Craig Smith to confirm they will be running again.

Both Councillors Scott Nelson and Ivan Bonnell have yet to publicly announce their intentions, while Councillors Laurie Walters and Sue Zacharias have said they will not seek re-election.
