Hwy 24 Scene of Two Separate Logging Truck Incidents

All motorists are being urged to exercise caution after the Lone Butte Volunteer Fire Department responded within 12 hours to two separate incidents involving logging trucks on Highway 24.

“There’s a ton of logging trucks on the road right now transporting and going every which direction so everybody needs to pay attention to these trucks when coming around corners,” says Fire Chief John Grieve.

“And obviously you want to make sure that these truckers are paying attention as well and watching the passengers on the road.”

Grieve says the Department responded to the first incident Monday evening in the 5700 block that was a rollover and involved a single occupant who sustained minor injuries. The Highway was closed in both directions due to the incident.

The Department Grieve says was then called around 6 am Tuesday morning to a separate incident in which a logging truck lost the back end of its’ load in the 5900 block. There were no injuries and traffic was reduced to single lane alternating.
