Pair Arrested Following Crash, Theft, and Pursuit

A man and woman were arrested in the Likely area Wednesday afternoon after having stolen a vehicle from a good Samaritan and leading RCMP on a pursuit.

Shortly after 7 am a vehicle crashed in the 70 Mile House area and a passerby stopped to help the two occupants of the truck who took their vehicle.

“The police immediately responded to intercept the stolen vehicle with the assistance of Williams Lake RCMP, Quesnel RCMP, Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and Air 3,” said North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson in a release.

The stolen vehicle was located and the couple were arrested.

“Air 3 was a crucial component in the search assisting the troops on the ground” said Williams Lake RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron.

The pair who police say were allegedly involved in criminal activity in Alberta remain in custody.

The good Samaritan was not injured.
