Quesnel man sentenced for assault with a weapon in Prince George

A Quesnel man, accused of swinging a weapon at people in Prince George, has been sentenced in provincial court.
44-year old Jamie Harkley, according to BC Court Services, was sentenced to 712 days probation and also received a 10-year firearms prohibition after being found guilty of assault with a weapon.
Harkely earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of mischief under $5,000 and was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
He was arrested following an incident back on October 27, 2025.
RCMP first responded to a report of a fire at the transfer station on Miworth Road.
A suspect was then identified by witnesses.
Police were then told that he attempted to hit witnesses with a weapon.
Harkley was also sentenced in connection with a fire at the West Fraser Centre in Quesnel earlier this year.
In that case he pleaded guilty to a charge of arson in relation to an inhabited property and was sentenced to time served, which amounted to 285 days in jail.
That incident happened on September 20, 2025.
