The Williams Lake RCMP got their man.
Staff Sargent Brad McKinnon was appointed Detachment Commander and Officer in Charge.
City of Williams Lake Mayor Surinderpal Rathor said he felt great when he heard about the news.
“I am very happy. Council is very happy. The Senior Leadership Team at City Hall is very happy. We are looking forward to working with him in the Inspectors capacity.”
Rathor noted that he has built a really good relationship with Mckinnon saying that he’s proven his leadership and is real community minded.
In the City’s social media post they stated “Having served as Acting Officer in Charge for more than a year, and previously as Detachment Commander in 100 Mile House, Mckinnon brings experience and a strong understanding of our community to the role. Beyond his policing duties, McKinnon is an active member of the community, volunteering his time with various organizations.”
Rathor noted that Mckinnon is willing to handle any situation.
“Whenever any requests come from City Hall or Council’s Table, he takes on the task that is given him.”
