Williams Lake Fire Department acted quickly to extinguish a grass fire

The Williams Lake Fire Department responded to another grass fire.

Deputy Fire Chief Brendan Foote said they received a call last night (July 29) at 7 that there was a grass fire next to the Boston Pizza on Donald Road.

“It was approximately 50 by 100 feet in size and was knocked down by 7:16 by our rapid response team and was contained to the hillside without any damage to property or infrastructure,” Foote said.

A duty truck, two engines and a water tender attended the fire with a total of 15 firefighters.

He said the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
