100 Mile House RCMP respond to break and enter and assault

A 47-year old man has been charged in connection with a break-in and assault in the 100 Mile House area.
Sergeant Brian Lamb says members were called to a residence on Gibson Road in the Horse Lake Road area back on June 23.
“Police attended and determined that an adult male had entered a residence and allegedly assaulted an occupant. The male was not known to the occupants of the home.”
Lamb says police located the male still on the property and arrested him without incident.
He says police also determined that the male had been operating a motor vehicle and observations of drug impairment were made.
“A drug recognition expert was called from Williams Lake RCMP to attend and conduct further testing for impairment.”
Lamb says the male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Earl Taylor has since been released and is now charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He’s due back in court on July 7th.
