Tomorrow is going to be a beauty day throughout the Cariboo and the Country.

Residents of 100 Mile House, Williams Lake and Quesnel are invited to take in the Canada Day festivities in their communities to celebrate our 159th birthday.

Events start tomorrow morning at 10 in the South Cariboo at the 108 Heritage Site.

Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 11 where the announcement of the Citizen of the Year award will be announced.

There will also be live entertainment, food, and lots of things to see and do right up until 3pm.

In Williams Lake Canada Day will be celebrated with a free community event in Boitanio Park from 10 am to 1 pm.

In addition to all the food and fun to be had, Lake City residents will enjoy a special performance by the Chris Goodwin Band.

And in Quesnel, Canada Day festivities begin at noon in LeBourdais Park.

There will be lots of live entertainment and everyone is invited.

This national holiday was originally named “Dominion Day” commemorating the anniversary of the Constitution Act.

It was legally designated as a statutory holiday in 1879 and officially renamed “Canada Day” in 1982.

Our country was officially established July 1, 1867
