100 Mile District General’s ER closed most of day Sunday

Residents of 100 Mile House and the area will be without an emergency department at 100 Mile District General Hospital for most of Sunday.

Interior Health says that emergency services will be unavailable from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patients can access emergency care at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake during this time.

The Health Authority says all other inpatient services will continue at 100 Mile District General Hospital.

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care should call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

Anyone unsure whether an emergency room visit is warranted can call HealthLink BC at 811, or visit HealthLinkBC’s website for non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists.

This is the fourth time in June that the 100 Mile District General’s Emergency Department has been closed, and the twenty-first time it has been closed this year.
