#31 on his jersey, #1 in the hearts of Cariboo hockey fans

The highest honor an NHL player can receive was given to Anahim Lake’s Carey Price.

Today (June 22) Price was selected to enter the Hockey Hall of Fame later this year

Drafted fifth overall in the 2005 by the Montreal Canadiens, Price enjoyed a stellar 15 season career.

In 712 games played during that span, he finished with 361 wins, 49 shutouts, a goals against average of 2.51 and a sparkling 917 save percentage.

Priced took home plenty of hardware as well capturing the William M. Jennings, Vezina, Ted Lindsay, and Hart Memorial trophies.

After only playing 5 games during the 2021-22 season, Price was honored with the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

On his way to the NHL he was part of the Canadian team that won the World Junior Championship in 2007 and helped Canada claim Olympic gold in the 2014 in Sochi.

He played his final NHL game April 15 2022 against the New York Islanders.

Growing up in the Cariboo, Price played his minor hockey in Williams Lake before going on to play 11 games with the Quesnel Millionaires of the BCHL.
