It was an early start to the work week for members of the Williams Lake Fire Department.
This morning (May 25) they received a call at 5:55 regarding a grass fire on the hill in behind DG’s carwash on Mackenzie Avenue.
“We responded to a 30 by 30 fire and were able to knock down and extinguish it before it was able to cause any damage to the carwash or the adjoining properties,” Deputy Fire Chief Brendan Foote said.
3 trucks and 18 firefighters were on scene and Foote said the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
