Webster Creek wildfire continues to burn west of Macalister

The Webster Creek wildfire continues to burn in the Cariboo.

The wildfire is 66 hectares in size and is located west of Macalister, northwest of McLeese Lake.

The BC Wildfire Service says ground crews are responding to Rank 2 fire behaviour at this site. Crews have heavy equipment and air support to establish control lines along the fire’s western flank.

BC Wildfire believes this fire was caused by humans.

The Cariboo Regional District issued an evacuation alert in the area on April 30.

The Alert covers 8 parcels and 696 hectares.

BC Wildfire has fought over 25 wildfires in the Cariboo Region since the start of April.

Only one of the fires was not caused by humans.
