Man accused of setting fire at West Fraser Centre in Quesnel to go to trial

A trial date has been set for a 44-year old man who is charged in connection with a suspicious fire at the West Fraser Centre in Quesnel.
Jamie Harkley, facing one count of arson in relation to an inhabited property, is due back in court on July 9th.
Fire fighters were called to the area for a fire back on Saturday, September 20th.
It was in the lower floor men’s washroom.
Quesnel Fire Chief Ron Richert said that it was partially extinguished by the sprinkler system, and that a good samaritan was able to put the rest out with some fire extinguishers.
The fire caused water damage to the washroom and to the hockey officer, which is located on the other side of the wall.
No one was hurt as parents and the kids, who were at the rink at the time, were quickly evacuated.
