Quesnel entrepreneur in the running for international competition

A Quesnel entrepreneur is in the running to win a dream entrepreneurial mentorship opportunity.

Cody Ginter, Founder & CEO of Manivist Capital, an online platform that connects investors with innovators and entrepreneurs, was nominated and, at the time of writing, is in the Top 5 entrepreneurs in the Entrepreneur of Impact competition.

“I actually got a random email to my business that somebody had nominated me, and it was a chance I didn’t want to miss,” says Ginter. “I feel really honoured by it, and the biggest thing is the exposure this has already given my business.”

The winner of the competition receives $25,000, a two-page advertorial spread in Entrepreneur Magazine, as well as a chance to be mentored by the competition’s creator, Daymond John, businessman, investor, author, and television personality on Shark Tank.

Ginter says there were a few different stages of the competition to qualify, which he called “quite a process”. He’s been posting more on social media, on both his personal and the company’s accounts, and he’s already seen new clients sign up to his business from being nominated in the competition.

“Obviously, the $25,000 would help out with a lot. Just more security, getting a better web design crew on board as well. The main part for me, though, is the exposure and connecting with others through this competition. That’s really what this is about.”

Not only has Ginter seen a jump in exposure, but he has also received a lot of support from the community of Quesnel. He hopes that making it through to the Top 5 and even winning the Entrepreneur of Impact competition will bring similar international exposure to the city.

“I think a main thing to take away is that it doesn’t matter about age, or where you’re at in life. Take the chances even if it seems like a long shot,” Ginter says. “I live in the middle of nowhere in the Cariboo, and no matter where I finish, this opportunity has been great and helpful. If you just set your mind to something, and you push hard enough, anything’s achievable.”

Voting for the Top 5 ends on April 23 at 7:00 p.m. You can vote for Cody Ginter on Entrepreneur of Impact’s website.
