Lake Access Dominates City Council Meeting

Lake access was the main topic of discussion in Williams Lake last night.
Councilors were presented with a petition with more than 300 signatures requesting that limited parking is made available on Dutch Point road at yesterday’s city council meeting.
Councillor Surinderpal Rathor admits that the current limited access near the boat launch is hazardous.
“At present, the lake access from the Dutch Point is not very safe. There’s very little visibility when you are coming out from the boat side because of private property.”
The city has resolved to take a number of actions to improve access on Dutch Point Road, which includes discussions with CN Rail to investigate costs to widen the road where possible.
The City is exploring the potential development of other boat launch and public access areas on Williams Lake.
