Chief of the Williams Lake Fire Department Fire Department, Des Webster, announced his retirement on Wednesday.
Mayor Walt Cobb says that the City thanks him for his years of dedicated service.
“A little bit surprised for sure,” says Cobb.
“I knew he had been away for the last month and other things were happening in his life. He will be missed. After 27 years of service, he’s been a long time employee of the City.”
Webster served as Fire Chief for the Williams Lake Fire Department from September 2013 and had joined the department as a paid on-call-firefighter in 1994.
