Saturday was a big night for many in the Lake City as the twentieth annual Williams Lake Business Excellence Awards recognized many of the businesses that go the extra distance for customers and the community at large.

To name a few, the Greatest Improvement Award was given to Delainey’s Centre, the Hospitality-Tourism Award went to the South Cariboo Garlic Festival while CanWest Propane took home the Customer Service Honours.

Few had as big a night as Dale Taylor though as the radio personality took home the Hugo Stahl Memorial Award and saw his family business “Taylor Made Cakes and Sweets” win the Food Service Award.

The Hugo Stahl memorial was presented by Mayor and previous winner Walt Cobb, who said the defining trait of winners is going above and beyond
