After putting the call out the Williams Lake Fire Department welcomed eight new recruits on Monday.
“It’s great,” said Deputy Fire Chief Rob Warnock.
“When we had our open house we probably gave out 30 applications and had 15 come back.”
About 11 people were interviewed to be a paid on-call firefighter.
