Taseko has done much more for the Esdilagh First Nation than what Chief Joe Alphonse would have you believe.
That was the message from Brian Battison Vice President, Corporate Affairs with Taseko.
Tribal Chairman of the Tsilhqot’in National Government Chief Joe Alphonse has stated that he would like to see Taseko replaced by another company due to Taseko not respecting First Nations rights.
Chief Alphonse has claimed that the Esdilagh First Nation have been working for 5 years to secure a impact benefits agreement with Gibraltar but that everything offered by Taseko has not met what he refers to as industry standards.
Battison says that Chief Alphonse is once again using lies and bullying tactics to get money from Taseko, this after playing an instrumental part in the rejection of New Prosperity.
