Violation charges, notices and orders for vehicle defects, and even drug seizures was the result of a collaborative road check on Highway 97 in Williams Lake Thursday.
“Williams Lake Traffic Services, Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services from Quesnel, Prince George Regional Traffic Services, got together with Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement Officers to conduct a vehicle compliance road check,” says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson with the North District RCMP.
During the time spent at the road check over 50 violation charges as well as over 140 notice and orders for various vehicle defects were issued.
One person was also charged with driving while suspended and police made two drug seizures.
Saunderson adds that over 220 Commercial vehicles were checked for compliance and of those 4 were put out of service for a variety of reasons and some were issued violation charges.
