A 40-year old Quesnel man is in critical condition following an assault.
A 9-1-1 call was received from a residence in the 600 block of Elm Street on Saturday night at around 9-30 requesting an ambulance for a man who had sustained life threatening injuries as a result of an assault.
RCMP and BC Ambulance Services attended and the victim was transported to G-R Baker Hospital in Quesnel before being transferred to the University Hospital of Northern BC in Prince George.
The North District Major Crime Unit is now investigating along with the Quesnel RCMP General Investigation Service.
Police believe this was a targeted attack and that the victim knew his assailants.
