A home in Quesnel was destroyed by fire over the weekend.
Fire Chief Sylvain Gauthier says the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department was called to a structure fire on Saturday morning at around 11-30…
“The structure was located on Norman Road in Carson Sub and upon arrival heavy smoke and flame could be seen coming from the roof area, at the rear of the building.”
Gauthier says the occupants were home at the time but made it out safely.
He says there was no chance for them to save the home…
“By the time we arrived over there the fire was already going through the roof and the main floor and part of the basement sustained some major damage.”
22 members responded along with three fire engines.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
