Quesnel Mounties Take Bite Out Of Crime

Charges have now been laid against a Quesnel man who was arrested this week with the aide of a police dog.

32-year old Nathan Doucette is charged with Break & Enter with Intent to Commit an Offence, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

He is due back in court on the 27th for a bail hearing.

Quesnel RCMP say a patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Tuesday that was reported stolen from Prince George.

He says the driver then noticed him an took off at a high rate of speed.

Police say the vehicle was then located unoccupied a short time later on a dead end street in North Quesnel.

Officers set up containment of the area and called in a police dog for help.

A man was arrested a short time later.

RCMP say he was hiding under a tarp inside an outbuilding less than 100 meters from where the vehicle was located.

Police say the man suffered minor injuries related to a confrontation he had with the police dog.
