Williams Lake breaks record temperature

Not only have we experienced much milder temperatures throughout the Cariboo over the past several weeks but a record was broken in Williams Lake this week.

Lisa Coldwells, a Meteorologist with Environment Canada, says the temperature reached 13.7 degrees in Williams Lake on Monday, beating the old mark of 13.5 from 1983.

It was 12.5 degrees in Quesnel on Monday but that wasn’t a record.

It was 17.8 degrees on March 9th way back in 1921.

While it wasn’t record-breaking, Coldwells says the month of February was also milder than normal.

Coldwells says the monthly mean in Williams Lake last month was -0.7 degrees which was much warmer than the normal of -4.1.
