Cow seizure

A Quesnel area farm has had nearly 100 cattle seized back on March 28th. BC SPCA chose to remove the animals from the property after executing a search warrant and based off a recommendation made by an accompanying veterinarian.  Manager of Cruelty Investigations for the BC SPCA Sean Eccles says that it appeared the animals were not getting enough feed and or were not receiving enough nutrition. In total 98 cattle were re-located to a ranch in the Prince George area.

Eccles says that the SPCA is still investigating the incident which could lead to charges being laid under the Animal Cruelty Act or even the Criminal Code. He adds they continue to monitor the health of the animals. Eccles says according to their lead investigator there was an appreciable difference in the animals health within a couple days of being seized.
