A Quesnel skater and her partner finished in the middle of the pack in their opening performance at the National Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver.
Haley Sales, who grew up in Quesnel, and Nikolas Wamsteeker were 5th in the short program today in the Senior Ice Dance competition out of 10 teams.
The free skate will take place tomorrow.
