Trial Starts For Quesnel Man Charged In Serious Incident

A Supreme Court trial is scheduled to get underway this afternoon for a Quesnel man who arrested last fall with the aide of a SWAT team.

41-year old Aaron James Dunlop was taken into custody last September following an alleged incident at a residence in the 900 block of Anderson Drive.

RCMP say they received a report that a distraught man was armed with a knife and was causing damage to the property inside.

The area was cordoned off and extra resources were brought in, including a crisis negotiator, who was able to get the man to surrender.

Dunlop is facing several charges including Unlawful Confinement, Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon and Uttering Threats.
