ICBC Explains License Plate Error

You might want to double check the expiry date on your license plate.

Due to a printing error by ICBC, around 4,500 customers who went to renew their plates on Aug 27th or 28th all across BC were issued papers with an incorrect expiry date.

ICBC spokesperson Joanna Linsangan says ICBC has sent a letter to the customers whose plates expire before December.

“And so the letter that we did send over to customers was encouraging them to go back to their broker, so they could get their insurance paper re-printed with the correct date.”

She says for residents with expiry dates past December that have been affected, ICBC will be mailing their revised documents directly to them.
