Stage Set For Remembrance Day In The Cariboo

Remembrance Day ceremonies are planned throughout the Cariboo tomorrow.

In Quesnel, there will be a parade through the downtown core starting at 10-30.

It will end at the cenotaph on Kinchant Street just before 11.

Helen Boudreau, the First Vice-President of the Royal Canadian Legion in Quesnel, tells us what will happen next…

“10-57, Oh Canada, that’s for everybody to join in and sing. 10-58 we’ll have the last post…11 o’clock, one bell at the united church for a two minute silence and at 11-02 one bell at the United Church, lament.

Boudreau says that will be done by one of their pipers and will be followed by the rouse to raise the flags

The ceremony will wrap up with the laying of the wreaths in memory of the veterans who have sacrificed.

In Williams Lake, the ceremony will start at the Gibralter room at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a parade to the cenotaph at City Hall.

And 100 Mile residents are invited to attend a ceremony at 10-15 on the west side of Birch Avenue across from the Community Hall.

The Legion will be hosting a luncheon after veterans are honoured.
