Quesnel Suspect Allegedly Arrested With Loaded Firearm Appears In Court

Sheldon Nipshank is facing three firearm related offences as well as one count each of break and enter, trespass by night and obstructing a peace officer.

He is due back in court on November 14th.

Quesnel RCMP received a complaint back on October 23rd of a man approaching a rural property off the Barkerville Highway, knocking on the door and then fleeing once the home owner answered.

Police say the home owner then noticed that he had been the victim of a break and enter and theft from his outbuildings.

RCMP say they were able to identify a suspect with the aid of surveillance video on the property and an arrest was made the following day after a patrolling officer spotted a vehicle associated to the suspect.

Police say the suspect provided the officer with a false name and that a search of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm.

A female, identified as Amy Rene Brown, was also arrested and is facing weapons-related charges as well.
