Police Locate Man Threatening Self-Harm

Williams Lake RCMP located a man Wednesday morning in the 150 Mile House area who allegedly fled into the bushes near a residence after threatening self-harm to a family member.

Staff Sgt. Del Bryon says police responded to the call at 8:48 am and that Police Dog Services and several members were called to the search.

The man was later located at 10:45 am and taken to Cariboo Memorial Hospital.

No further details on this incident which Byron says is not a criminal matter will be released.

ORGINAL STORY: Police Launch Investigation in 150 Mile Area

A heavy police presence is being reported in the 150 Mile House area Wednesday morning.

“Another police car just went down now too so that’s seven,” said a listener who called in to MYCARIBOONOW just before 9 am observing police cars with sirens rushing past on Highway 97 South.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Del Byron says the matter is under investigation and that police are tight-lipped for now.
