100 Mile Nordics Close to Opening

The 100 Mile Nordics are thankful their trails weren’t affected by the wildfires this past summer and are close to opening.

Kristi MacKenzie, an Executive with the Nordics says they’re always looking for help.

“Well we welcome volunteers of course, there’s tons to do. Sometimes the tasks are fairly specialized, so we have challenges in terms of putting people with stuff that needs doing.”

The trails are suitable for both classic cross country skiing and skate skiing, as well as plenty of trails for snow shoeing. In total, the trails add up to over 100 kilometers of action.

MacKenzie says they’re offering a ski school for the 2nd year in a row for grade 3 students in the South Cariboo. The lessons will be available for free.
