The Sea Cadets in Williams Lake will be hosting their first annual Lazy Laker Dog Days Dog Show Sunday afternoon (October 29).
Vice President and Fundraising Director of the Navy League of Canada, Shawna Allery says she came up with the Show as she was sitting with a piece of paper and writing down all of these ideas.
“I got to thinking you know you only see these dog shows on tv and it’s always these prim and proper dogs. I see a lot of people in Williams Lake that have dogs and they’re not show dogs; they’re just family friends, and I just wanted to do something that the community could get involved in.
Allery says they will be doing five categories at tomorrow’s show including best trick, best dressed and cutest, tallest, shortest, and fluffiest, and adds that there will prizes which have been donated from various businesses in the community as well as live music.
The event which has approximately 24 canine contestants so far starts at the Elks Hall at 1 pm. Admission to the show is a $5 donation with children under five free. Registration will also be available at the door by a $25 donation.
