The Canim Lake Band has presented the District of 100 Mile House with a unique plaque.
After the crazy wildfires of 2017, the District was recognized for all the help they did throughout it all.
Councillor Bill Hadden was at the ceremony to represent 100 Mile.
“It was just a real nice gesture, and it recognized a lot of the good will that went back and forth this summer. It’s just one of those things you won’t forgot. This summer was not a good summer and it pointed out a lot of the shortfalls in a lot of organizations but somehow we made it through”
Hadden, who has lived in the area for over 60 years, says it was nice to see everyone come together – from being evacuated, to turning the town into an evacuation center.
