Quesnel RCMP have been cleared of any wrongdoing in the death of a female earlier this month.
The Independent Investigation Office was called in following an incident back in the early morning hours of October 1st.
Police responded to a report of an assault between a male and a female in the 800 block of Front Street.
RCMP noticed that the female, the alleged victim, was in breach of a court-imposed condition and took her into custody.
There she was examined by Emergency Health Services and was subsequently taken to G.R. Baker Hospital and then later transferred to another hospital, where she was pronounced deceased the following morning.
The IIO investigation included interviews with civilian witnesses, physical evidence from the scene, video evidence, 9-1-1 reports and medical reports.
Quesnel RCMP, meanwhile, continue to investigate this incident.
Names have not been released and charges have not yet been laid.
