Area F Noise Bylaw adopted

One of the last CRD areas in the Cariboo now has a noise bylaw.

This past friday at their annual meeting the  Cariboo Regional District adopted a noise bylaw for Area F.

Joan Sorley is the Director of Area F and she explains how this bylaw came to be

“We were being driven mad by noisy neighbours, barking dogs and a variety of really tough issues and there was nothing we could do as a regional district our bylaw enforcement officer wasn’t able to help because we had no bylaw”.

Sorely said after a couple of years collecting feedback from community members regarding noise complaints that she took it to the CRD board with the recommendation to  establish a noise bylaw for Area F where it got adopted.

This newly adopted bylaw will now cover 140 Mile in the south to the out skirts of Williams Lake as well as Big Lake, Miocene, Horsefly, Likely and 150 Mile.
