Quesnel Runners Flex Muscles At Zone Championships

It was a dominating performance for Quesnel students at the Cross Country Running Zone Championships in Prince George over the weekend.

Ruby Nicholas from Quesnel Junior School was the overall champion for junior girls and led the team to the zone title as well.

Reese Jaconsen was third in juniors.

Megan Strand, Lucy Pontius and Jennah Paul were also on the Junior Girls team.

The Correlieu Senior Girls team became Zone Champions edging out PGSS by a single point.

Aleesha Bautista led the way with a silver medal, followed by Hannah Vaughan-Ferrell who won bronze.

Amber Proudfoot (7th), Abby Fisher (11th), and Emma Pontius (13th), ran a very smart race, pushing themselves to their limits to help the team take the title.

In the Senior Boys race, Bazil Spencer struggled with a foot injury but still came across the line in 4th place.
