100 Mile Mayor Gains New Title

The mayor of 100 Mile House earned a new title at the UBCM convention down in Vancouver earlier this month.

Mayor Mitch Campsall is now part of the UBCM Board as the new Representative for Small Communities and talks about what this title entails.

“When I sit at the table, mainly it’s dealing with small community issues. And when they bring up issues to the table… how does it relate to small communities and how do we protect small communities from being pushed to the side.”

Mayor Campsall says one of the main issues currently is dealing with grant sizes, and how they’re usually tailored to much larger communities.

Another issue brought forward was how some smaller communities have a harder time attending the convention down in the lower mainland due to affordability.
