Concept Plan Approved For Expansion to the South Cariboo Rec Centre

The concept plan for the expansion of the South Cariboo Rec Centre in 100 Mile House got the nod to move forward last week at the South Cariboo Joint Committee meeting.

The plan put together by CRD Area H Director Margo Wagner, Councillor Ralph Fossum and the architectural firm HCMA features a turf field the size of a soccer pitch, a hard surface area the size of a basketball court and a 2nd level walking track. Altogether the expansion is roughly 52 thousand square feet in size.

The expansion would be attached to the existing rec centre and would require demolition of the old Stan Halcro Arena to the east.

The next phase of the expansion will be to figure out the cost of the project.
