local groups and organizations benefit from Williams Lake Stampede Association fundraiser

Several local charities and non-profit organizations were the recipients of some very special donations given to them by the Williams Lake Stampede Association.

The money was handed out at last night’s annual general meeting as President of the Williams Lake Stampede Association Tim Rolph explains.

“We very pleased, very excited to be able to hand out some of our funds we raised during our wildfire relief event. We dispersed forty-four thousand dollars last night between sixteen local charities and non-profit organizations.

The money that was raised came through the efforts of a Wildfire Fundraiser for the community to benefit local charities which was held last month at the Williams Lake Stampede grounds.

Rolph says there will be more money to hand out as there are still some people holding fundraising events this month and he hopes that the money they’ve distributed so far will make a difference for the groups who received it after the summer we’ve all been through.
