It’s Dwarfism Awareness Month.
Riley Windeler of Horsefly is working to get the word out.
“There are few little people out there and we get bullied, we get stared at, name-calling, things like that, like anyone with any difference and it’s just getting the word out that we’re human, we’re the same as everyone else.”
Windeler will be doing a Ceremonial Puck drop for Team Canada Dwarf Athletics at tonight’s (Saturday, October 14) Stampeders game in Williams Lake against the Prince Rupert Rampage at 7:30.
“I’ve done a number of awareness tables and events, but nothing like this. This is will be a first,” says Windeler adding that the organization isn’t much known.
“It can be compared to the Olympics for little people. We have world games every 4 years and that was this past year in Guelph, Ontario.”
