Lots of white in 2014 puts snow removal budget in the red

2014 was another really busy year for snow removal for the City of Quesnel!

Director of Public Works Ken Coombs says when it comes to their winter operations which include snow removal, sanding, driveway entrance clearing, and winter shift workers, they were once again over budget…

That’s despite the fact that the budget was increased by 10 percent for 2014, from just under 706 thousand in 2013 up to almost 801 thousand.

Coombs says with just one major snowfall to deal with so far in 2015 they are in pretty good shape right now for this year.
