Elementary school to benefit from energy-savings funding

School District 27 will be one of 24 school districts across the province to share $5 million dollars for energy projects under the Carbon Neutral Capital Program.
Kevin Futcher, Secretary-Treasurer says for the District says the replacement of a boiler at the Cataline Elementary School in Williams Lake will not only save the District money but make the school a leader in reducing emissions.
Two other schools within the District currently use a pellet boiler system, Futcher says.

The $416,142 will also allow the installation of green-friendly lighting within the elementary school.
