Potential Funding Requests for North Cariboo Recreation Projects

The North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee will be asked to endorse a number of funding applications at it’s monthly meeting tonight.

It is to the Northern Development Initiative Trust Community Halls and Recreation Facilities grant program

The fund will provide up to 70 percent of eligible costs to a maximum of 30 thousand dollars.

Staff is suggesting an application for Rubberized flooring for the walking track at the new West Fraser Centre, to replace the dasher boards in the old arena, to replace the equestrian bleachers at the Bouchie Lake recreation centre as well as make some improvements to the change rooms at the outdoor ice rink and for roof repairs, electrical upgrades and bathroom upgrades at Barlow Creek.

If all of these grant requests were successful the total cost of the combined projects would be 335 thousand dollars with the City and Cariboo Regional District responsible for 166 thousand of that.
