Fatal Crash North Of Quesnel

A single-vehicle accident on Highway 97 North of Quesnel has claimed the life of a 27-year old woman.

Corporal Madonna Saunderson, with North District RCMP, says the accident happened at 2-23 a.m. and involved a 2015 Fiat near Cinema, just south of Hixon…

“Sadly one of the occupants in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and two other occupants have been taken to hospital with injuries that have been described as non-life threatening. The crash closed the Highway for several hours.”

Saunderson says the Highway is now open to single lane alternating traffic and should be completely re-opened soon.

RCMP continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin
