Wildfire Relief Fundraiser Ready To Benefit Local Charities

Volunteers were at the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds Friday morning getting things set up for tonight’s Wildfire Relief Fundraiser.

Volunteer Lorne Doerkson says things get started at 7.

“We’ve had a couple of people come show up saying that they thought it had started today at noon- that’s not the case at all. So tonight at the Let R Buck Saloon at 7 o’clock we have 5 great bands up on the stage tonight, and then tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock we’re going start.”

Doerkson says the Daybreak Rotary Club of Williams Lake will be putting on a pancake breakfast and that they will be having music all day starting at around 10.

There will also be a ton of stuff for kids all day including a bouncy castle, face painting, and more according to Doerkson.

Lunch will be provided by the Lions Club with the Rotary Club cooking up pulled pork sandwiches for dinner

Funds raised from the two-day event be donated to local organizations and charities.
